Great lunch today

Wow, I seem to be on a roll with this blog lately. Today, I had a really fantastic lunch with one of the veterinarians I used to work with for about 5 years. She recently moved to another practice and seems to be enjoying it there. I haven't seen her in over 6 months so it was really nice to catch up. I also considered her one of my mentors in life and she was always there at work for me to answer questions or anything I needed. I miss working with her a lot, but I am glad she is happy where she is at. I went to her house today for lunch, since she is on maternity leave and has two kids (1.5 years old and 2 months). It was just easier for her, which I didn't mind at all. She made some delicious tacos!
I also tolerated her kids pretty well. The newborn wasn't too fussy and her oldest was actually pretty cute playing around with her toys and then eventually my keychain. She was also fascinated with the tattoos on my feet and leg. I stayed over there chatting for about 3 hours, so all in all, a great afternoon!

Tomorrow, I go back to work after having a week off. I am really NOT looking forward to it at all. I've only got about 2 1/2 weeks left to work, but still, I cannot stand to see just one person who makes it miserable. I love my co-workers to death, so that does help some. I only work for 4ish hours tomorrow, so that is alright with me.

That's all for tonight since it is 11:30 (See what one of my wives has done to me?! I never stay up late.) So I'm off to bed for the night.

Tonight, I'm posting this for two reasons. First, I wanted to talk about the AMAZING weekend I had with two of my lovely wives and secondly is because I think I really have been talking to someone very special!

Anyway, I had a really fantastic weekend with my friends. Thursday, I arrived pretty late and just relaxed at my one friend's house (my old roomie!) It was great, just like old times back in the dorms complete with video games. The next morning, we watched Star Trek: Into Darkness together and then we went to my other friends house just to hang out for a little bit. We got Johnny Rocket's for lunch and then for dinner, we went out for margarita friday at a mexican restaurant with my roommate's family. Finally, that night, I crashed at my other friend's house.

The next day was a really lazy day and we just chilled at the house until we went to see Monster's U at 8 that night. That was a really great movie and I definitely recommend seeing it!

Sunday was the big day- we went to Busch gardens and we also had one more friend join us. We all had a really fantastic time there. It was a bit hot, but the lines were really pretty short, so we were all glad for that!

Unfortunately, that was the end of my visit. I really only get to see two of my wives really twice a year at this point, though I will be seeing one of them next month at Comic con! Still, I really miss them to bits everyday and all my wives are the best friends anyone could ask for. I am really glad I have them as a support system for everything I've been going through lately. It is going to be even more difficult to see them once I start vet school, but it will all be worth it in the end and I know they will always be there for me.

Enough with the depressing thoughts about not seeing my best friends... I'll be moving in just one month! It is hard to believe that time flies that fast. I have about two and a half weeks of work left, then Comic con (I still can't believe I'm going!) and then just a few days home after that before the big move. I'm excited, scared, nervous, anxious, and full of so many other emotions I can't even describe.

I know that I've mentioned in previous posts that I've been talking with someone who lives out in Missouri. We are still talking on a daily basis and she is just a fantastic person in every way that I can imagine. Tonight, she proved that to me once again by embracing one of my biggest obsessions (Tali, who else?). I have just one more month left until I meet her in person and I cannot wait. She has definitely made these past few months happier with us just texting back and forth.

Well, I think that's all for now. Here is just a picture of me at Busch Gardens on Sunday on the carousel.

Beamer boy Obedience star, work rants, and Comic Con!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I have been so super busy I just haven't had the time to sit down and write anything up. A lot has been going on that I do need to update.

First off, we had our last dog trial before I move to Missouri. It was in Fishersville, VA, about an hour and a half drive. Beamer actually did decently in the car! He is usually pretty anxious and pants the entire time. I do have a crate in there (he loves his crate) but eventually even with that he did it. This time, I left the crate unzipped in the front and that seemed to help a lot! Hopefully he will continue to do well like that in the car.
I entered him both days in Novice A Obedience and Rally Advanced A. We only needed one more leg for our Companion Dog (CD) title and two more legs for our Rally Advanced (RA) title. Saturday he was wonderful, even though his 'sitter' appeared to be broken in obedience. But we still managed to get a Q! Not the best performance with a 179, but we earned 4th place and our title! We also got our second Q for our RA title with a score of 77 and first place. He did not jump, which is something that we had been working on, which was a bit disappointing, but he did great otherwise. He didn't even look at the food bowls with treats in them!
Sunday, Novice A was a disaster! What can I expect from my goofy 2 year old boy? His off-leash heeling was basically non-existent, which earned us a NQ. Not that it mattered, since we got our title the day before. His sitter was once again broken... not sure what his problem was! We even practiced it beforehand. We also would have NQ'd anyway because he layed down on the long sit... goofball. Oh well. The good news is that we earned our RA title that day with a score of 85! AND Beamer boy jumped that day!!! I was very proud! He actually was a bit too excited to jump since he kept going over to it and staring at me 'can I jump yet?' Goofy boy...

All in all, it was a great weekend, since we accomplished what I had hoped to do. He is now Crescent's Getting Lucky in the Burg CD RA CGC. More than I had ever hoped to accomplish with my first dog. 2 years ago I had no idea about anything in the dog performance world.

In other news, I now have less than a month to go working at my vet's office. I am so fed up working there, I can hardly stand it. It is mostly our office manager, and I'm not the only one fed up with her. Yesterday, she gave me crap about something that wasn't even my fault. Let me start by saying last year, I planned on going to Comic-Con in August, so I took off about a week's time in July. I had no idea I'd actually be leaving before that this year, but I am. I also took off the Saturday before it for a concert. So, that left one day I did not ask off for in between, a monday. I also, about 3 months ago, CLEARLY wrote on the calendar that my last day will be July 12th (a Friday). And what does she do? She schedules me for Monday the 15th, the one day I did not ask off in between. I didn't even think I'd need to since I wrote my last day would be the 12th of July. All my co-workers clearly saw this marked on there, too!
So, here she is just getting angry at me for a mistake she made! It's not MY fault that YOU cannot read the schedule correctly. So don't get angry with me for it. I'm sorry you are short staffed that day, but I told you 3 months ago when my last day would be.
Also, before, she told me that I could get all the vacation days I did not use after my last day, but apparently that is not the case anymore and I really don't understand why.

Which brings me to another point that I am now on my week of vacation!! I am so so excited and happy to be out of there for the week. I'm leaving tomorrow to go see two of my wonderful wives that I haven't seen since winter break. I am SO SO excited to see them since it will be winter break before I get to see them again. I miss them both to bits. So far I know we are going to go see Monster's U and going to Busch Gardens!

Finally, yesterday Comic-con tickets went back on sale (the resale) and I was really nervous about it since I worked the whole day. Luckily, they were at 1:00 so I was able to be on my lunch at that time and with one of my best friends helping, I managed to get tickets for ALL 4 DAYS!!!! I am SO excited for this since I FINALLY know I am actually going! I need to still book my flight but my hotel is all taken care of! This is basically a gift to myself right before I start vet school since I'll be home for only a few days after I get back and then I have to move. BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER I'M GOING TO COMIC CON!!!!

Ok, last thing, I promise! Today is also someone's birthday who is special to me! So I just want to wish her a wonderful birthday and I wish I could be there with her to celebrate!! Have a great day!

To finish off, enjoy some pictures of Beamer boy with his ribbons!

Just another week

Not much to report this week. I've worked everyday except for Sunday, because we are closed, since I've had a day off from my 4 day weekend. Just two more days this week, finally! This weekend I was super busy- I went to a humane society banquet with my mom's fiancee since he works for animal control. I felt like I was probably the youngest person there. It was this SUPER nice house from the civil war era with a pool, some land with horses and at least 13 old cars. But anyway, the food was pretty good and I had a good time.
Sunday, I had a nice walk with one of my best friends after we grabbed some lunch. Then I went to a graduation party for one of my co-workers (who graduates tonight, actually, from high school!)

Today was also the opening of the VMCAS for this cycle. It is strange to not be apply again when the last two years that is what I've done. I'm definitely relieved that that part of my life is over and I'm finally about to begin a new chapter. I also got my first letter in the mail from Mizzou since I got my acceptance letter talking about the VET orientation program. Exciting!

So a busy weekend leads to a super busy start of the week at work. I worked a few hours extra the beginning of the week and then got off work about an hour early today- that's just how things go I guess. This weekend I don't have a break, either. Beamer and I have our last trial before I move in July. It is in Fishersville, about an hour and a half away. A nice small show for Obedience and Rally. I think the most I have in both my classes both days are 5 dogs, which is fine by me! I'll give more of an update once that happens this weekend, but basically Beamer needs 2 legs to finish his RA title and 1 leg to finish his CD title. The unfortunate thing is that I need to be awake at about 6am on Saturday just to get there in time. Usually novice things are later in the day but not this trial due to having separate rings!

So, basically I'm just trying to finish this week out. Oh, I forgot to mention that I have a nice family dinner Friday evening after work with my great grandmother who I haven't seen since I was probably 7 years old. I am actually really excited for this since who knows if I will ever get to see her again.

That's all for now, I'll check back in later this weekend, hopefully, if I'm not too tired!
