Home for the Holidays!

Boy, I am SO glad to be home. I haven't been back since I moved out in July- nor have I seen most of my family (besides the weekend I flew out to my mom's wedding!) It feels like forever, yet I never left. I left Friday right after my last final and then drove through the winter storm to the border of Indiana/Illinois to stay the night in a hotel with my pups. They did great in the hotel. The next day, it took me about 12 hours to get home due to the weather (and my GPS taking me down back roads, UGH!) But, I finally made it home at around 7pm. I have a ton of appointments to go to while I'm home and just going to try to relax. I get to go see my wives during new years and I'm SO excited!!! Can't wait to see them!

As for finals- they seemed to go as well as I could have hoped! I ended up with a 3.389 for the semester, which is great, to me! I got a B in Anatomy, B in Physiology, A in Cell Biology, A in Microanatomy, and finally a B in Neuroscience. I was almost certain I was going to end up with a C in neuro, because I had gotten D's on the past two exams. But somehow, I rocked out the practical so hard (96% :O) that it bumped it up to a B!! I am ecstatic! That was my goal for the semester was to get the exact grades I got- it could not have gone any better! Finals were exhausting and it is definitely no joke that I studied every day for about 2 weeks straight to try to get through all the material. I've never studied so much in my life; just wow. But, all the hard work paid off! I just hope I can keep it up for the next block (IP3) because it is apparently they hardest block! I've got Anatomy (Large Animal), Physiology, Microanatomy, Nutrition, Developmental Anatomy, and Clinical Skills. Classes run until 5 or 6pm a few days a week, which makes it extra difficult because it is very exhausting to be in class all day and then have to come home and study a few more hours. But I'll push through!

I also got some great news after finals- I got an interview for the Merial Student rep position. They had lots of apps and picked me (and 8 others) to interview! I had a phone interview today and I think it went pretty well. I should know by Friday. If I get it, that's great! If not, then, I won't be heartbroken.

So now I'm just going to sit back and relax with my family and my pups!
